The top 10 Russian love phrases are these:
1. Sladkiy "sweetie"
2. Ya loobleu tibiya. "I love you."
3. Ti maya yedeenstviyanaya. "You are the only one for me."
4. Nye poftarimaya. "There is none like you."
5. Ti maya solnischka. "You are my sun."
6. Ti maya zolutsa. "You are my gold." This phrase is actually more akin to "You are very precious to me" than similar to any monetary evaluation. Very close siblings can use this term as well. But, it is used more often by couples in love.
7. Ti maya dragatsenaya. "You are precious one."
8. Magoo leeya tibiya patsoolavat? "Can I kiss you?" (Only after you are married, of course!)
9. Ya khatchoo tibiya preglaseet v'resturan. "I would like to invite you to a restaurant." Note: the "kh" is a hard 'h'. You can also express this word as "hatchoo". Alone, it means, "I want."
10. Ti samaya lubimaya na svieti. "You are my most beloved in the world."
Here are some love phrases in Russian to ask a lady on a date:
1. Ya khatilbuh preeglasee tibiya v'park. "I would like to invite you to the park."
You are inviting a lady to go for a walk with this phrase. Ukrainian and Russian ladies walk a lot every day. Walking is a social activity on weekends. In Kiev, for example, the main avenue, Kreschatik Street, closes Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning. Tens of thousands of people come out to walk, meet friends, buy a few beers from cart vendors, and watch street entertainment. Live bands, clowns, mimes, and even popular television hosts will set up and put on free shows.
2. Ya khatilbuh preeglasee tibiya na chasku kofya. "I would like to invite you for a cup of coffee."
You likely already noted the initial portion of these two dating phrases are the same. "Ya" is I. "Ya khatilbuh preeglasee tibiya... " means "I would like to invite you... " then add "na" or "v" and then the activity or location. Examples: na dantsavat means "for dancing," and v'Kreschatik oolitsa. means to Kreschatik Street.
3. Ya khatilbuh preeglasee tibiya v'resturan. "I would like to invite you to a restaurant."
Learning some Russian common phrases will be important for any western men traveling to the former Soviet states to meet ladies. Men who go on romance tours lament barriers to conversing with their first-choice women. Men with larger personalities and ability to open conversation with Russian dating phrases edge out those less prepared.
Airfare, hotels, tour arrangements, food, and lost income total the cost of a trip to at least a few thousand dollars. Be sure to do two things: First, meet as many ladies as you can. Do not fly to Kiev or Saint Petersburg to meet ONE lady. Stories of fairytale email romances followed by instant dead chemistry at the airport abound. Arrange to meet large groups and to meet ladies one-on-one. Second, learn greetings, ice breakers, romantic phrases, and how to respect a Russian or Ukrainian lady.
